The Institute for Consecrated Life in Asia had the 17th Commencement Exercises and Thanksgiving Mass at the Fr. Domingo Moraleda Hall on June 2, 2017. Thirty six (36) graduates coming from Bangladesh (2), China (8), India (1), Indonesia (3), Korea (3), Myanmar (3), Philippines (9), and Vietnam (7) completed either a Licentiate in Theology (2), Master of Arts in Theology (30) or the Certificate Program (4), majoring in either Consecrated Life (16), Spirituality (7), Missiology (5), or Biblical Ministry (8).

Ms.Carmencita Rojas, CARES Coordinator, gave the Introduction before the Entrance Hymn. Rev. Fr. Angelito Ancla, CMF, Prefect of Apostolate of the Claretian Missionaries, Philippine Province, was the presider and homilist of the Baccalaureate Mass, which preceded the commencement exercises.

The Commencement Ceremonies started with the Greetings and Welcome by Amalia Teresita B. Rosana, Ph.D, Secretary/Registrar of ICLA, followed by the procession of the candidates for graduation, members of the faculty and academic staff, an alumni representative, the Board of Trustees of St. Anthony Mary Claret College, and the entrance of colors.

Dr. Rosana also presented the candidates for graduation to the Director, Rev. Fr. Samuel H. Canilang, CMF. Sr. Cynthia Calingasan, POIC requested the Director to confer on the candidates for graduation the Degrees and Titles they have justly merited.

The Coordinators of the four departments attested that the candidates for graduation in their respective departments have successfully met all the requirements prescribed by ICLA.

Rev. Fr. Rodel Aligan, OP, Dean of the Faculty of Sacred Theology of the University of Santo Tomas, gave the Commencement Message.

Sr. Nguyen Thi Ngoc Hanh, LC – recipient of the Thesis Special Award and graduated with Cum Laude honor, gave the Address of Gratitude.

Sr. Hermiani Silalahi, FHD petitioned on behalf of the graduates of Batch 2017 to be accepted as bona fide members of St. Anthony Mary Claret College, Graduate Department-Institute for Consecrated Life in Asia Alumni Association, Inc. Br. Christopher Gorit, FMS, as representative designated by SAMCC-ICLA Alumni Association, Inc. accepted the request and led the oath-taking of the new members. This was followed by the Pledge of Loyalty by the graduates led by Sr. Marilou Montalban, SRA.

Fr. Samuel H. Canilang, CMF gave the Closing Address before the graduates sang the ICLA Alma Mater Song and their Graduation Song.
